Should our cars be required to get better gas mileage? My answer is yes! If we could get rid of the gas guzzling cars that only get six miles to the gallon and use other cars that get at least twenty five miles to the gallon I think it would help our fuel shortage. New cars should have to have a high mpg or they shouldn't be allowed to be put on the market. I was reading on www.fueleconomy.gov that the most important descision you make this day in age may be which kind of car you buy. I also found that if you perhaps drive 15,000 miles a year for five years and the average gas price is $2.50 equals a $3,125 difference between a car that gets twenty miles to the gallon and one that gets 30 MPG. If cars don't start getting more gas mileage we are going to run out of natural gas. Then what? Are we all going to walk just because good descisions weren't made? We need to make a difference now. At this very moment ther is only enough natural gas to last us another sixty five years at the most! I sure want there to be enough gas for my children and for the rest of my life. If we had cars that got better MPG we wouldn't have to use as much gas which would make what natural has we have left last a little bit longer. So if you have a big metal box on wheels that gets under ten MPG get rid of it and benefit us all.
